Local Area - Around Inverness
Inverness is the capital of the Highlands and as such is the commercial, business and shopping centre for the area. It offers the visitor varied entertainment, choice of restaurants, riverside walks and boat trips from the Caledonian Canal into Loch Ness (the lair of the mystical Loch Ness Monster).
Inverness also provides an ideal base for touring the greater part of the Highlands and eastwards into Moray and Grampian.

- Hill and Forest Walks - The area provides a wide choice and the Cairngorm National Park is only some 40 minutes drive.
- Mountain Biking - There is a choice for all standards up to championship level.
